Digital Marketing Salary - 2021 Survey Results

Work is one of the most central things in our lives. We go there every morning (most of us) and spend a very significant part of our day there. Alongside meaningful and interesting work, most of us are also looking for a job that will bring in as much money as possible at the end of the month. We often ask ourselves how our salary compares to the market, what the highest-paying roles are, whether a bachelor’s degree is still relevant today and how it contributes later to salary, whether there is a difference between men and women, and how much our location affects how much we receive at the end of the month.

All these questions will be answered in the 2021 Salary Survey!

Digital Marketing Salary Tables - Conclusions:

Digital Marketing Salary 2021 – In the digital marketing salary tables, we see that the average salary rose significantly over the past year from NIS 12,227 to NIS 14,055. This is likely due to a reduction in the number of employees in the field, which raised the average salary. There is a noticeable significant gap in the average salary between women and men, with the average salary for women standing at NIS 13,228 while men earn an average of NIS 14,575.

Compared to 2020, when 39% of employees were placed on unpaid leave or fired, and 34% had their salary or hours cut, in 2021 the data is more optimistic, with only 12% of respondents having their salary cut, only 7% having their hours reduced, and only 12% fired during the year. Furthermore, 57% of respondents report seeing an improvement in this area.

For example, compared to 2020, when the average salary for a Marketing Manager was NIS 12,925, and for a PPC Manager was NIS 11,500, in 2021 a PPC Manager earns NIS 12,933 and a Digital Marketing Manager earns NIS 14,973.

Another change we see this year is a certain decline in the percentage of bachelor’s degree holders in the field: a total of 66% of industry workers hold a bachelor’s degree (compared to 73% last year), and the downward trend among master’s degree holders continues — 19% compared to 21% in the previous year. It is important to emphasize that there is a noticeable gap in average salary between bachelor’s degree graduates (NIS 14,264) and employees without a degree (NIS 13,710).

Regarding education in the field, survey respondents ranked HackerU and Digitalent at the top of the chart, with 14% having studied there. Following this, the salary relative to the professional institution in these schools is the lowest — Digitalent stands at NIS 12,257 and HackerU at NIS 11,157.

And which field is most worthwhile to work in?

First of all, it is better to be a freelancer according to the data, as there is a significant gap in the salaries of freelancers (NIS 19,014) compared to salaried employees (NIS 12,963).

We see that the field with the lowest salary is Web Analytics, which stands at NIS 10,545. In the in-demand PPC field, the average salary is NIS 12,993. In Social Media, you will earn an average of NIS 11,557, and in SEO, you will earn NIS 12,665.

On an optimistic note, 57% see an improvement in the volume of work since the start of the pandemic, and 67% of employees continue their routine of working from the office.
