How to Use the Product Page Feature on LinkedIn

In order to integrate the eCommerce sector into the LinkedIn platform, the company allows you to build Product Pages for eCommerce products you sell. On the Product Pages, users can find many details about your product, including: product price, images, valuable information, and customer reviews. To share your eCommerce products on LinkedIn in the most optimal way, you need to build the LinkedIn Product Page accurately and correctly. Go through this article where we will discuss LinkedIn Product Pages and how to create a Product Page on the platform. As of this writing, LinkedIn Product Pages are only available for B2B companies.

What is a LinkedIn Product Page?

At the end of 2020, LinkedIn introduced the ability for users to build product pages on the platform that effectively help them build awareness and reliable information around your products and brand. On this page, you can also build strong Social Proof by showcasing customer reviews and ratings, as LinkedIn users who land on your product page and want to leave a review must verify that they have indeed purchased a product from the store, making these reviews very high quality. Note that the LinkedIn Product Page cannot be used for services, only for products.

How to Create a LinkedIn Product Page in 6 Simple Steps?

Step 1 - How to create a Product Page on LinkedIn?

To create a Product Page on LinkedIn, you must have Admin or Content Admin access to the company page. Open the Products tab in the menu and then click the Add Product button.

Add a product on LinkedIn

In the add product window, enter your product name. Please note, once you have added the product, you will not be able to change its name.

Step 2 - How to add or edit product details?

At this stage, you will be asked to enter details about your product. The required fields to fill out are product category, call to action (CTA), and product info.

Details to fill out

Please note, following repeated requests from the LinkedIn community, the platform decided to allow LinkedIn page owners to accelerate the creation of product pages by generating them using existing data from the company website or LinkedIn company page. If your company page already has products, you can use their data to create the Product Page more easily. In the product category, make sure to choose the category that best fits your product (you have over 500 options for category selection on the LinkedIn Product Page).

Step 3 - Choose the call to action and the landing page on the website

For the CTA (Call to Action) button, the options available on LinkedIn are – Download Now, Get Started, Request Demo, Contact Us, Try Now, and Learn More. After selecting the desired call to action, enter the URL to which the CTA will direct. After completing these steps, you will be able to see a preview of how the chosen CTA will look on the product page in the product description box.

Step 4 - Add images and videos to highlight product features

The media section on the Product Page is a central part and allows you to add a combination of videos and images that highlight the product’s features and benefits. This option is optional but highly recommended. You can upload videos or images to the LinkedIn platform and also embed videos from Vimeo or YouTube. The minimum size for images is 1128×376 pixels and the maximum file size is 5MB (which is why it is recommended to embed videos from streaming platforms rather than uploading them directly to the system).

Add media to a product page on LinkedIn

To present media in the best way on your Product Page, LinkedIn recommends adding 3 videos and 2 images, ensuring that the video length does not exceed 3 minutes. It is recommended to include a brand-related video to give users some information about your business alongside product demo videos and customer testimonial videos. For product images, choose images that clearly display your product, and for online products, choose an image of a dashboard or an app’s home screen.

Step 5 - Showcase key customers using your products

On your LinkedIn Product Page, you can showcase customers who have used your product. “Customers” on LinkedIn refers to organizations and businesses that purchase from you regularly. You cannot add personal accounts with this option, only company pages. If your business serves a variety of industries and businesses, add customers who reflect your target audience. Be sure to request permission from the company or business you want to add in this section.

Note: If your company page was added to another business’s product page and identified as a “customer” of that business, you can remove this display with the click of a button.

Step 6 - Submit your Product Page for review

After filling in all the required fields, you need to submit your Product Page for review by LinkedIn. This process can take about two weeks, but sometimes product pages are approved faster. Once your page is approved, the Products tab will be added to your company page. If you have more than one product page, LinkedIn users visiting your company page will see an alphabetical list of products with a brief summary of each.

How to Appeal a Customer Review on Your Product Page?

As the owner or admin of a Product Page, you can appeal a review received from customers on your LinkedIn Product Page. There are 3 categories of reviews that you can appeal on the Product Page:

  • Defamation or slander – For example, if someone makes false accusations about your employees. LinkedIn will delete these reviews.
  • False review – For example, when a user claims that your product is not available in a certain region, while it actually is available in that region. In this case, LinkedIn will delete the review after verification.
  • Biased or sponsored review – For example, if someone reports a review because they believe the person who left it was paid to do so. LinkedIn claims that it cannot always detect reviews in this category, so there won’t always be a response from the platform.

LinkedIn users can also report any review to the system by clicking on the 3 dots on the right side of the review and selecting report review.

In Summary

A LinkedIn Product Page is an excellent opportunity to showcase your products and give users a glimpse into your customer base. The ability to add organizations and businesses that purchase from you regularly alongside authentic product reviews helps your LinkedIn Product Page become a central part of your business’s social proof. LinkedIn recommends prioritizing obtaining product reviews. In this article, we covered the full setup of a LinkedIn Product Page. It’s important to remember that these pages are currently only available for B2B businesses, but they are expected to open up to all types of businesses in the future.
