Information on Facebook users in Israel for 2020 is data we all must know, especially following the recent period, which was challenging to say the least.

2020 was particularly surprising, and we found ourselves adapting very quickly to changes and developing new habits as a result. We saw this happening in the digital world as well. As we showed in the 2020 Salary Survey Results Infographic, we saw that salaries dropped significantly, a major wave of layoffs swept through the industry, and employee aspirations changed accordingly. Therefore, this year more than ever, we are excited to bring you the most interesting data regarding Israelis browsing on Facebook and to understand if changes occurred in this area as well.

Among the topics we examined and are sure you are curious to discover – what is the average age and education level among Facebook users in Israel? What are the most popular and viewed pages? What about the most common profession and the percentage of married, single, engaged, and divorced individuals?
All the answers to these interesting questions are in the updated 2020 infographic we prepared for you on Facebook users in Israel.

Usage Patterns

The Android operating system continues to be the leading OS with 67% of all users compared to only 26% for iPhone. However, we do see significant strengthening for Apple in market share since last year they stood at 22%, while Android accounted for 70% of the market share. That’s a four percent increase!

Activity Frequency

The frequency of activity has barely changed. For instance, we like fewer posts (13 compared to 15), comment slightly more (7 compared to 6 last year), and click a bit more on ads (25 clicks compared to 23 last year). It will be interesting to consider whether this aspect indicates a certain mindset shift we need to make? Maybe run more lead ads?

Main Categories

In first place is Lancome by Loreal Paris, taking the coveted title from Mac, which held it over the past year.

You could say this was expected, naturally as part of the crazy year we experienced due to COVID-19, but note that the government organization – the Ministry of Health – made a massive leap and jumped from the tenth and last place to fourth place on the list.

Another figure, which broke our hearts this time, is the steep drop of the arts and entertainment category straight to last place. Could this also be considered a side effect of the coronavirus?

Popular Pages

Just like in 2019, YNET is in first place this year too with 1.1 million followers, putting up a fight against HaTzinor’s page, which also stands at 1.1 million followers. The IDF page was pushed off the list, making room for N12, which managed to squeeze in at the last minute into 10th place. Notice that out of ten spots – seven pages are classified as news sites! Does this indicate the power of the media in the digital age?
